A Blog and Some Marketing Research

A website host, online training platform and a brilliant community helping one another to succeed online.

Wealthy Affiliate is the first place I visit every morning as soon as the computer is switched on usually to see the traffic and sales results for my websites.  I also help new people by answering any queries they have or simply writing a blog.

This morning was a blog about repurposing and recycling digital assets.  Digital Assets are websites and email lists etc.

When you work online there are many social media sites and websites that become redundant but they can be repurposed for any new online projects.

For instance, I have a Facebook account and several Facebook pages.  Some can be renamed to fit the image and branding of the business.  Similar to what I've done with this blog.

The more time we spend online the more our knowledge grows and what worked 10 or 20 years ago evolves as technology evolves.

Rather than create new pages or websites we can repurpose existing sites that already have a following leveraging prior online work to build followers.

Research for an Article
Online Entrepreneurs rely on content to attract visitors to websites.  That means a constant supply of articles/blogs needs to be regularly added to a website.

Today, was all about researching for The Online Entrepreneur website.  The new blog is about Online Marketing Strategies and includes SMM, SEO and SEM strategies.

The blog is part-written and should be uploaded within the next day or two.

The life of an online entrepreneur is about keeping up with latest trends, understanding the impact they can have on a website and applying them for the best possible results.

Have a great day

Online Entrepreneur - Building Backlinks

Today, I revived this blog site plus some of the Social Media sites I haven't used in a while.

Why?

It's all about building SEO backlinks to my websites.

Why Build Backlinks?

Backlinks are the lifeline that help establish how good your website is.  It depends on having high ranking sites that link back to your website and particular articles on certain sites.

For example - In the blog What Types of SEO Links Does A Website Need - I talk about internal links, external links and back links.

These links lets the search engines know that there is important information that should be ranked higher.  This in turn helps your website grow in authority and stature.

Why Use Google Blogger?

Google is an authority site that uses search engine bots to seek out good sites.  It obviously sees it's own sites as good informative sites that meet the criteria for quality information and reputation.

This Blogger site has been operational for over a decade and I have established trust with Google for this site.

Reviving this site and creating backlinks to my websites generates high ranking sites that will help boost the new website authority.

What Will You Be Learning?

Each day in my updates, I will share some information about what I'm doing, why I'm doing it and the results I'm getting.

Hopefully you will support both this site and my other websites.  After all, your input is as important as the links to the websites that I create.  Your click-throughs to the websites also play an important part of growing my business and continuing to supply the type of information you require.

Thanks for reading

Have a great day and don't forget to check out The Online Entrepreneur for more tips for building a successful online business.

A day in the Life ... Back Again

It has been more than a few years since I wrote on this blog site mainly due to a change in direction with the focus going mainly to creating and delivering live training sessions.

2023, has been a tough year with the loss of eyesight, partially remedied by surgery and catching the dreaded covid, that left me with long-term covid and lots of associated ailments.

As a result, I've moved away from live coaching to more online coaching and offering online courses.  This has meant building more websites and getting back into content creation.

For that reason, I'm reviving the blog - A day in the life .... This is a daily update of what I'm doing to pivot my online business along with investment strategies.

Here is an update to what I've been working on over the past couple of months and from today the daily updates will be back.

The Online Entrepreneur

The Online Entrepreneur started life as a newsletter that is sent out each Saturday morning with a tip and action to help readers grow their online business.  This was so successful that it has evolved into a website The Online Entrepreneur.

This is a resource of information about building online businesses that are SEO content-based with tips and tricks for building a successful online business selling your courses or affiliate products.

I started the website as a project when doing training with clients at the beginning of October 2023.

It was designed to teach clients what is needed to get an online business up and running.

Back in 2003, I started life as an online entrepreneur and moved away from it.  I love the experience of getting back into writing and building online sites again.

It's Not As Difficult as it Seems

For many people the thought of building online businesses and investing the profits in property, digital assets and commodities is frightening. They believe it is outside their ability, skills and knowledge.  But mainly, they believe it takes a lot of time and energy to do so.

A day in the life .. is here to show you that just some small actions taken every day will help you to grow your wealth, income and lifestyle.

Join me on the journey..

Water Your Investments

The £2.73 Club is about starting with little or no money. Finding something in each of the 4 Investment categories - Property, Paper, Business or Cash - that you like. Take action everyday until it brings in the results, wealth and lifestyle you desire. But most people give up to soon some don’t even start.

Investing is like the story of the Chinese bamboo tree:

You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilize it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens.

The third year you water it and fertilize it, and nothing happens.

The fourth year you water it and fertilise it and nothing happens.

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilize the seed and then---miraculously. Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree sprouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS!

Investing is the same. You start with a tiny amount you invest it. At first you think why am I doing this for 50p return? But 50p soon becomes £1. That soon becomes £2, then £4 until you are earning £100, £1000 or even £10,000. The problem is most people give up at 50p because they don’t think it is worth the effort instead of seeing the success of achieving the first 50p.

If you have discovered how to make 50p you have discovered how to make money and become wealthy. The next step is how to duplicate it and make another 50p. Then duplicate it again and again.

Making Money is about taking Action everyday until you get the desired result. Like the bamboo story, water your investments everyday until they grow.

What are you waiting for

What are you waiting for?

Today history was made in America. A bankrupt man who has never been in politics; never served his country in a government role or in the military one was elected President of the United States of American.

Two years ago he had a dream to become a candidate for the Presidency. The Republicans made jokes about him and ridiculed him. He put a plan together and persevered until he'd eliminated all the other candidates and got the Republican nomination.

Even with the nomination Republican Party members distanced themselves from him. Yet he continued to work his plan and take action every single day until he achieved his dream. He campaigned day after day putting one foot in front of the other. When every piece of dirt was found and thrown at him he kept his head high and his belief in himself even higher. When the polls said he couldn't win he kept campaigning and working his plan. He pulled together a team of people and together they overcame every obstacle in his way to win an election and make him  President Elect of the United States of America.

You don't need to like or agree with his politics the point here is he had a dream, a plan and took action every day until his dream was achieved.

Just over 2 decades ago a car crash left me unable to walk or move my right arm. When the doctors gave up on me I built a team of people around with the same focus and determination as me that I would walk again. It took a year to walk, another year to master stairs, 5 years to get back on a tennis court and 7 years to get back on skis. A dream, a plan and action every single day brought the results I craved. An ability to walk and live the life I wanted to.

These same values saw me borrow £300 on a credit card and turn it into £10 million within 4 years all through having a dream, putting a plan together and taking action every single day.

If a bankrupt man can become president. If I can learn to walk and build incredible wealth and lifestyle what greatness can you achieve? All you need is a dream, a plan and to take action every day until you succeed.

At The £2.73 Club we show you how to turn your financial dreams into reality- check us out - Facebook Group £2.73 Club

What are you waiting for? Start now your dreams aren't getting any younger.

System Failures....

“Why Won’t People Adopt Siblings?” asks the Sky News article for the start of National Adoption Week. However, sometimes it’s the system that fails not the lack of prospective adoptive parents.

In 2006 my husband and I started our journey to become adoptive parents.  We decided we would like to adopt not only older children but siblings. We felt with our age and experiences we would be more suited to dealing with the issues around older children.  We also thought our lifestyle would better suit two or more children.

The adoption process is painfully slow.  We made enquiries in October 2006.  It was March 2007 before we had our first appointment with a Social Worker.  July 2007 the application process started and in February 2008 we sat outside a council office waiting for the decision as to whether or not we would be allowed to adopt.  After a long wait the chairwoman of the adoption board came to see us and said our application was approved.

A few weeks after our approval a social worker daughter of some friends, said she knew of some children waiting to be adopted and she thought we would be a perfect match for the kids.  But she had encountered a problem – we weren’t showing on the list of approved adopters for siblings.

We contacted our Social Worker who said to be patient as we had our approval and the system just needed to be updated with our details.  The administrator had been sick and it could be a couple of weeks before she was up to date with her workload and we appeared on the system.

A few more weeks went by and we still weren’t on the system.  We contacted our Social Worker again and asked her to investigate.  This time she came back and said there was a mistake and we had not been approved to adopt siblings.  We were stunned.  For over 2 months we believed we had been approved as adoptive parents for siblings and we hadn’t.  Nobody knew why we had been declined.  As far as everyone was concerned we were approved it was just the written decision from the adoption board didn’t match the verbal confirmation they had given us.  We asked about appealing the decision and were informed there was nothing we could do.  We had to accept the decision.
I can’t help wondering how many other prospective parents have come forward to adopt siblings and encountered similar system failures.

We seem to have a system that fails not only the children waiting to be adopted but also the prospective parents.  It’s a system that has for too many years been admonished regularly by politicians but yet still fails to deliver the standard of service everyone needs or deserves.

As publicity starts for National Adoption Week my hope is that we get a system that works well for all concerned especially the venerable kids who just need a loving home.  My husband and I may not have been approved to adopt siblings but we were approved to adopt a child.  We now have a beautiful daughter who has been with us for six years.

Successful or Not.....

Victoria Beckham is a woman I admire.

She worked hard and become a famous singer.  Not only famous but part of one of the most successful girl groups in history – The Spice Girls.  Victoria Beckham married David a very famous footballer.  They have a marriage that has survived for 15 years which is very unusual for famous couples.   Mrs Beckham changed careers and became an award winning fashion designer with an estimated £30 million business fashion empire and a couple of weeks ago opened her first store in London. Only last week she was made a special ambassador for the UNAIDS.  I think you can call Victoria Beckham successful.

Now let’s look at a woman I know who is 55 years old.  Her body is riddled with arthritis and she struggles with everyday activities.  Her doctors tell her she should be in a wheelchair but she refuses to use it or even a walking stick.  Instead, she pushes herself to live as normal a life as she can with daily walks and an exercise regime.  How many people would call her successful?

The sad truth is not many. Yet this woman is very successful in her own right.

The dictionary states the definition of success is achievement.  The 55 year old has a goal to continue walking unaided as long as she possibly can.  Everyday she manages to walk is a day of achievement or success.  So why don’t we recognise this and call her successful?

Have we become so conditioned in society or blasé that we only recognise success if fame and wealth comes with it?

Maybe it’s time to take a step back. Look at all the successes around us and give genuine praise where praise is due.
